Father Mullen's Adoption Initiative
Overview
With the observance of World Orphans Day, November 14th, we consider ways that the Knights of Columbus carry on the mission of Blessed Michael McGivney to protect widows and orphans. Rice Lake Council 2137 Former State Chaplain Father Dennis Mullen's Adoption initiative is one way Wisconsin Knights continue to step into the breach.
As of August 10, 2026, We are pleased to inform you that The Father Dennis Mullen Adoption Initiative, formerly functioning as a standing committee of the Knights of Columbus Council 2137, has been incorporated as the FATHER DENNIS MULLEN ADOPTION INITIATIVE, INC, as an officially recognized 501 (c)3 corporation effective July 1st, 2026. Our relationship with the Rice Lake Knights of Columbus Council 2137 is still strong and they provide three members for our Board of Directors.
This Initiative depends on the generosity of people who support adoption. We realize that there are charities also seeking financial support and we will not compete with them. We do not spend contributors’ monies for fund raising events; we only do Adoption Awareness Events so that people understand the need for adoption. We believe in the power of the “tithe,” of which we hope a small part will be given to our cause.
